The traditional Kap Situwima ceremony of the Kandy Esala Perahera will be held tomorrow (13) at an auspicious time, Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela announced.
He made the announcement at a meeting held yesterday at the Sri Dalada Maligawa premises to discuss arrangements for the Perahera, including coordination and security measures.
The Kap Situwima ceremony marks the beginning of the traditional rituals associated with the annual Kandy Esala Perahera, one of Sri Lanka’s most important cultural and religious festivals.
Officials at the meeting also discussed measures to ensure the smooth conduct of the Perahera and the safety of devotees and visitors.
