The Department of Meteorology forecasts widespread showers and thundershowers across most parts of the island, particularly during the afternoon and night. Morning showers are also likely in the Western Province and in the districts of Galle, Matara, and Puttalam.

Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is expected in some areas within the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and Uva provinces.

The public is strongly advised to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.

In addition, misty conditions are likely in the early hours of the morning in parts of Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Polonnaruwa district. Motorists are urged to drive with caution due to reduced visibility.
