Sri Lanka Pavilion Opens at Expo 2025 Osaka

The Sri Lanka Pavilion was officially opened on 13 April 2025 at Expo 2025 Osaka, under the global theme “Designing Future Society for Our Lives.”

Located in the Empowering Lives zone (D-3), the Pavilion showcases Sri Lanka’s rich culture, sustainable development vision, and nature-positive approach under the theme “Sustainable Management of Marine Resources.” Sri Lanka Pavilion is hosted by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau in collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Japan and the Sri Lankan business community in Japan.

Featuring Ceylon Tea, coconut-based products, spices, Ayurveda, handicrafts, and more, the Pavilion promotes trade, investment, and tourism opportunities.

Institutions represented at the Pavilion include the Sri Lanka Tea Board, Sri Lanka Export Development Board, Coconut Development Authority, National Crafts Council, Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment, and the National Gem and Jewellery Authority.

Inaugurating the Pavilion, Ms. Sesath Thambugala, Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the Sri Lanka Embassy in Japan, highlighted the significance of the Expo for Sri Lanka and extend her gratitute to the Government of Japan and the Sri Lankan business community in Japan for their support for Sri Lanka's participation at Expo.
