The Department of Immigration and Emigration has announced a temporary restriction on passport services from April 15 to 17. According to the statement, token issuance for both regular and one-day passport services will be limited during this period.
Services on these days will be available only until 12 noon, and the 24-hour one-day passport service will be suspended entirely. The department urges the public to plan their visits accordingly and apologizes for any inconvenience caused.
This temporary change is likely in view of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year holidays, during which many government services operate on a limited schedule.
For more information, the public is encouraged to contact the department’s hotline or visit the official website.
