WhatsApp down: Major outage hits messaging services globally

Downdetector, a website that monitors the status of online services, registered a substantial increase in user complaints. In India alone, over 900 reports have logged, with more than 90% of these citing issues with sending messages. The remaining reports indicated server connection problems and general app malfunctions. At the time of this report, some members of The Times of India's technology team confirmed they were experiencing difficulties sending messages on both the WhatsApp application and WhatsApp Web.

Reports indicate that individuals are facing difficulties with sending messages, establishing connections, and utilizing call functionalities on both the mobile application and the web-based platform. Downdetector has registered a surge in user complaints, with a significant portion reporting issues specifically related to message transmission.
