We must respect all races, religions and cultures equally - Sajith

The vibrant religious and cultural event drew devotees and participants from across the region, representing Sri Lanka’s rich tapestry of ethnicities, religions, and traditions.
Speaking at the event, Premadasa emphasized the importance of unity and mutual respect among all communities. “People of different religions, ethnicities, and cultures live together in brotherhood and harmony. We must respect all races, religions, and cultures equally. This diversity makes our country a more beautiful and prosperous place,” he said.
The annual Rathotsava is a significant event in the Hindu religious calendar and symbolizes prosperity, blessings, and communal harmony. The temple premises were adorned with colorful decorations, and the chariot procession was accompanied by traditional music and dance performances.
The participation of political leaders in such community events underscores the need for inclusive governance and respect for Sri Lanka's multi-religious identity.
