Special Train and Bus Services Commence for New Year

According to railway authorities, ten special trains have been added to the schedule. Among these, a train will depart from Colombo Fort to Badulla at 7:30 p.m., while a return service from Badulla to Colombo Fort has also been arranged.
Additionally, a train will leave Colombo Fort for Galle at 7:20 p.m., with a corresponding service operating in the opposite direction from Galle to Colombo Fort.
The department revealed that a total of 31 special journeys have been planned to cater to the increased travel demand during the New Year and extended holiday weekend.
Complementing the rail services, the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) stated that adequate bus services are also being deployed across the country. These measures are expected to ease the holiday travel rush and ensure a smoother journey for thousands heading home to celebrate the traditional festivities with family and friends.
