The Department of Motor Traffic (DMT) has announced that effective from April 15, 2025, it will be mandatory for individuals to provide their Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) in order to access services from the department.

In a statement issued earlier today, the DMT emphasized that the new requirement aims to streamline operations and ensure a more efficient and transparent process for all transactions. The department highlighted that the TIN, which is already used for various governmental purposes, will be crucial in simplifying verification processes and maintaining accurate records.

The DMT further clarified that citizens and businesses seeking services, including vehicle registrations, driver’s license renewals, and other motor vehicle-related procedures, will need to submit their TIN as part of their application.

This new mandate is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to modernize public services and enhance accountability in administrative procedures. The Department of Motor Traffic has advised individuals to ensure their TIN is up to date before seeking any services post-April 15.
