
Showers and thundershowers expected across the island

Fairly heavy rainfall, exceeding 75 mm, is likely to affect parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, Central, North-western, Uva, and North-central provinces. The public is advised to stay alert as localized heavy rainfall may cause disruptions.
In addition, misty conditions are anticipated in certain areas of the Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, as well as in Kurunegala districts, particularly during the early morning hours.
The Meteorological Department has also issued a warning regarding temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. The general public is kindly urged to take necessary precautions to minimize damage from these weather conditions.
WEATHER FORECAST FOR SEA AREAS AROUND THE ISLAND
Condition of Rain:
Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea areas around the island.
Winds:
Winds will be South-easterly or variable in direction and wind speed will be (20-30) kmph.
State of Sea:
Sea areas around the island will be slight.
Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
