The Sri Lanka Police have issued a special traffic plan for Colombo and surrounding areas in anticipation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Sri Lanka.
The traffic measures will be implemented to ensure smooth movement during the visit and to accommodate security protocols.
The first phase of the plan will be enforced on the Katunayake Expressway and Baseline Road on 4 April, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The following day, on 5 April, the traffic plan will be extended to key areas including Galle Face, Independence Square, and Battaramulla.
Motorists are advised to exercise caution and follow police instructions to avoid delays. Alternative routes and specific instructions will be provided for those traveling through these regions during the affected times.
Authorities urge the public to cooperate and stay informed about road closures or diversions during this period.
