Sri Lanka's tourism industry has experienced a strong start to 2025, with total earnings reaching an impressive $768.2 million during the first two months of the year. February alone contributed $367.6 million to the nation's tourism revenue, continuing the sector's positive momentum.

While February's earnings saw a slight dip from $400.7 million in January, the figures represent an overall growth compared to the $345.7 million recorded during the same period in 2024.

This robust performance underscores the growing appeal of Sri Lanka as a top global travel destination for 2025, as the country garners increasing recognition on the international tourism scene. The tourism sector remains a critical pillar of Sri Lanka's economy, ranking as the third-largest source of foreign income.

With its rich cultural heritage, pristine beaches, and vibrant ecosystems, Sri Lanka continues to attract tourists from around the world, further boosting the country's economic recovery and global standing.
