Sri Lanka’s veteran all-rounder, Chamari Athapaththu, has moved up two places in the latest ICC Women’s ODI Player Rankings, securing the joint seventh spot alongside Australia’s Annabel Sutherland. Athapaththu’s rise follows her recent performance in the ODI series against New Zealand, where she contributed 25 runs and took three wickets. Despite her individual efforts, Sri Lanka was unable to overcome New Zealand, with the latter securing a 2-0 series win.

In other updates, India’s Deepti Sharma has climbed one spot in the all-rounders' rankings, overtaking New Zealand's Amelia Kerr to now sit in fifth place.

Meanwhile, in the ODI batting rankings, England’s Nat Sciver-Brunt has moved up to third place, surpassing Athapaththu for the position.

Athapaththu’s continued success on the international stage highlights her valuable contribution to Sri Lanka’s cricketing prowess as she remains among the top all-rounders in the world.
