Parliament to Convene from February 5th today to 7th
The parliamentary business for this week was determined during the Parliamentary Affairs Committee meeting, which was held on January 23rd under the chairmanship of the Speaker.
Today's session will begin at 9:30 a.m., with a designated 30-minute period (9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.) allocated for parliamentary business as per Standing Orders 22, 1 to 6. Following that, from 10:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., four questions to the Prime Minister will be addressed.
From 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., five questions requiring oral answers will be discussed. At 11:00 a.m., the session will focus on questions under Standing Order 27(2) until 11:30 a.m.
The afternoon agenda includes a significant debate on an order under the Foreign Exchange Act, along with two regulations under the Import and Export (Control) Act, scheduled to take place from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
The day's proceedings will conclude with an adjournment debate initiated by the government, set to run from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
