SLBFE Sets Ambitious Target of 340,000 Overseas Job Opportunities in 2025
Speaking at an awareness program for newly licensed foreign employment agents at the Bureau’s headquarters,
SLBFE Chairman Kosala Wickramasinghe emphasized the need for a regulated and transparent process in securing overseas placements. He reiterated the Bureau’s commitment to ensuring that recruitment is carried out ethically and without exploitation.
Wickramasinghe also addressed concerns regarding fraudulent activities linked to some licensed agencies, assuring that strict legal action would be taken against anyone found guilty, regardless of their position or influence.
"The SLBFE will continue to play a pivotal role in expanding international employment opportunities for Sri Lankans, while safeguarding the welfare and rights of our workers abroad," he stated.
The Bureau’s efforts are crucial in enhancing Sri Lanka’s foreign employment sector and ensuring that workers are protected from exploitation and unfair practices.
