Sri Lanka has recorded a total of 1,204,046 tourist arrivals in the country from January 1 to July 6, 2025, according to the latest data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).

In the first six days of July alone, the island nation welcomed 36,002 tourists, reflecting a continued upward trend in international arrivals.

India remained the leading source of tourists during this period, contributing 8,053 arrivals. This was followed by the United Kingdom with 3,562, Australia with 2,674, and China with 2,362 visitors.

Tourism officials say the steady increase is a positive sign for the industry’s recovery and growth, supported by strategic promotional efforts and improved international connectivity.
