Landslide Early Warnings Issued for Multiple Districts

The Landslide Early Warning Centre of the National Building Research Organization (NBRO) has issued a landslide warning for several districts due to adverse weather conditions. The warnings will remain in effect until 4:00 PM today, January 21.

The NBRO has issued Level II (Amber) landslide early warnings for the following areas:

  • Kandy District: Doluwa and Ududumbara
  • Matale District: Rattota, Wilgamuwa, Yatawatta, and Ukuwela

Meanwhile, Level I (Yellow) landslide early warnings have been declared for the following regions:

  • Badulla District: Passara, Badulla, and Hali Ela
  • Kandy District: Pahathadumbara, Medadumbara, and Panvila
  • Kurunegala District: Rideegama
  • Matale District: Laggala Pallegama, Ambanganga Korale, Naula, Pallepola, and Matale

Residents in these affected areas are advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions, including avoiding travel through landslide-prone regions during the warning period. Authorities are closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as necessary.
