Court Restricts Inter University Protest to Access to Key Locations in Colombo

The Fort Magistrate's Court has issued an order preventing the Convenor of the Inter-University Students Federation, Madushan Chandrajith, and others from entering several major state institutions in Colombo during their planned protest today ( January 8).
According to the Police, the order prohibits entry to locations such as the Presidential Secretariat, the President’s House, and the Finance Ministry. Additionally, protesters are restricted from causing inconvenience to pedestrians or disrupting vehicular traffic on several roads in Colombo between 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM.
The protest has been organized to demand allowances and privileges for the Education and Higher Education sectors.
