The Nawalapitiya-Dolosbage road has been completely closed to traffic after a mound of earth and several trees collapsed onto the roadway early this morning (November 29). The incident occurred around 2:00 a.m. in the Weligodawatte area, according to Nawalapitiya Police.
The collapse has also disrupted power supply in several areas of Nawalapitiya, as trees fell on power lines alongside the earth mound. Efforts to clear the debris and restore normalcy are underway, but no timeline has been provided yet.
Residents and commuters are advised to avoid the affected route and remain cautious until the situation is resolved. Authorities are working to address the power outages and reopen the road.
