The President was formally welcomed by Speaker Asoka Ranwala at the Parliament's main staircase at 11:10 a.m., followed by the Prime Minister's arrival at 11:15 a.m. Shortly afterward, President Dissanayake will arrive and be officially received at 11:20 a.m.
A ceremonial procession will then lead the President into the Chamber, carrying the mace, accompanied by the Speaker and the Secretary-General of Parliament. Once in the Chamber, the President will preside over the Speaker’s Chair, while the Speaker will take a seat beside the Secretary-General.
After presenting the Government’s Policy Statement, the session is scheduled to adjourn.
