New Cabinet to Take Oath Tomorrow

The newly elected Cabinet Ministers will be sworn in before President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow (November 18) at the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo, according to the President's Media Division (PMD).
National People’s Power (NPP) senior spokesperson Tilvin Silva previously stated that the Cabinet will be limited to 25 members or fewer, with a scientific approach applied to allocate ministry subjects.
Meanwhile, the inaugural session of the Tenth Parliament, formed through the 2024 General Election held on November 14, will commence on November 21. This session was officially announced in an Extraordinary Gazette Notification No. 2403/13 dated September 24, 2024.
The NPP secured a historic two-thirds majority in the election, winning 159 seats, marking a decisive victory.
