The Constitutional Council has formally approved the appointment of new members to the Public Utilities Commission (PUC).

The newly appointed members are Professor K. P.L. Chandralal, Professor W.D. Rodrigo, Dr. M.P.S. Fernando, P. Hennayake, and High Court. This marks a significant update to the Commission, which plays a critical role in overseeing public utilities in the country.

The PUC, which is composed of five members, is tasked with ensuring fair and efficient regulation of services that impact the public, including electricity, water, and transportation.
