President Anura Kumara Dissanayake will deliver the government's policy statement at the inaugural session of the 10th Parliament on November 21 at 3.00 p.m., according to the Parliamentary Communications Department.

This address, a key feature at the start of each new parliamentary session, outlines the government’s vision and legislative priorities. As per constitutional provisions, the President presides over the opening meeting of Parliament to set the tone for the session.

Historically referred to as the “Rajasana Speech,” this tradition not only signals the start of a new session but also provides an opportunity for the President to present the administration’s plans and strategic direction to both Parliament and the public.
