NPP and SLPP yet to Finalize National List Appointments

The National People's Power (NPP) has confirmed that no final decision has been made regarding the appointment of National List Members to the 10th Parliament. Dr. Nihal Abeysinghe, General Secretary of the NPP, stated that discussions on the matter are ongoing and that further deliberation is required before finalizing the list.
Meanwhile, Namal Rajapaksa is reportedly being considered for the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna’s (SLPP) National List Member position. However, SLPP General Secretary Attorney Sagara Kariyawasam clarified that a final decision on Rajapaksa’s appointment has not yet been made.
At the same time, other political parties have not finalized their National List candidates, indicating that discussions and evaluations are still underway across the board.
The National List, which plays a significant role in the representation of parties in Parliament, is expected to be confirmed in the coming days.
