Obstructions to the upcountry railway line caused by a rock fall have been cleared and train services are back to normal.
A landslide on the Up country y railway line caused a disruption this afternoon when rocks fell onto the track between the Ohia and Idalgashinna stations. As a result, train No. 1005, traveling from Colombo Fort to Badulla, was halted on the tracks.
According to the Nawalapitiya Railway Control Office, the train driver demonstrated skillful judgment by stopping the train in time, preventing any potential accidents. The heavy rains in the region have contributed to the landslide,
