The National Election Commission has set up a special team to investigate false information spreading on social media about the 2024 Parliamentary Election.
The team, consisting of five officials, will monitor platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok for any misleading promotions or false claims related to political parties or candidates. The Election Commission stated that any misleading content found will be removed from these platforms.
In cases of serious violations, the Commission added that legal action will also be taken.
