Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Central, Uva and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts after 1.00PM, the duty meteorologist Ms.Pabodini told Zira Daily.
A few showers may occur in the Northern and Eastern provinces in the morning.
Misty conditions can be expected at some places in Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces and in Galle and Matara districts during the morning.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Condition of Rain:
Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Galle via Trincomalee and Hambantota.
Winds:
Winds will be North-easterly in the sea areas extending from Puttalam to Hambantota via Kankasanthurai and Trincomalee and North-westerly or variable in direction in the other sea areas around the island.
Wind speed will be (20-30) kmph in the sea areas around the island. Wind speed can increase up to (40-45) kmph in the sea areas off the coast extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankasanthurai.
State of Sea:
The sea areas extending from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Kankasanthurai can be fairly rough at times. Other sea areas around the island will be slight to moderate.
Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.
