Sri Lankan police have arrested a total of 334 people, including 9 candidates and 325 supporters, for violating election laws in the lead-up to the 2024 General Election, scheduled for 14 November.
Police have so far received 313 complaints regarding election law violations, with over 50 classified as criminal offenses. Additionally, the Election Commission has received 1,794 complaints related to election issues.
