Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya reaffirmed that the National People's Power (NPP) government will work to support those affected by the war, providing necessary humanitarian aid to heal the scars of the past.

During a campaign visit to Mullaitivu and Kilinochchi in the Northern Province, the Premier also made it clear that the NPP will not offer ministerial roles to members of other parties who enter Parliament after the upcoming election.

She emphasized that only elected NPP members will receive portfolios, rejecting the idea of collaborating with other parties' members who she claimed have failed to serve the public effectively.

Speaking in Kilinochchi, Premier Harini noted, “Some candidates from other parties are claiming they’ll join the NPP and receive ministerial positions. But NPP, symbolized by the compass, will reserve all roles for our elected members.”

She further highlighted the NPP's plans to resettle internally displaced people and reopen public roads in the North to foster reconciliation and improve access for local communities.
