Colombo Court Orders CID to Investigate False Report on President's Health

The Colombo Magistrate's Court has directed the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to conduct a thorough investigation into a false report about the health of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, published online during the recent presidential election.
The court instructed the CID to identify, arrest, and present those responsible for the misleading report. This order follows a complaint filed by Attorney-at-Law Sunil Watagala, who reported that the false information was posted through an account under the name “Subhash.”
CID officials presented an update to the court, confirming that the investigation is ongoing and they are working to track down those involved in spreading the false report.
