The Ministry of Public Administration has reported that four official residences previously occupied by former ministers have still not been handed back to the government. The residences were used by ex-ministers Sanath Nishantha, Mohan De Silva, R. Sampanthan, and former Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapakse.

The Ministry stated that Mohan De Silva’s official residence is expected to be returned yesterday (November 5). Additionally, former minister Sanath Nishantha’s residence is scheduled to be handed over today (November 6), following instructions given to his wife.

The Ministry has also informed relatives of R. Sampanthan that his official residence must be returned immediately.

In the case of former Deputy Speaker Ajith Rajapakse, the Ministry cited issues with property documents as the reason for the delay. However, Rajapakse clarified that he had already returned the residence several months ago.
