The National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued early landslide warnings for eight districts due to ongoing heavy rainfall, effective from 5 PM today (November 2) to 5 PM tomorrow (November 3).
Warnings at Level 02 have been issued for the following districts: Kalutara, Kandy, Kegalle, Matara, and Ratnapura.
Specific areas at risk include:
Kalutara District - Bulathsinhala
Kandy District - Udapalatha, Yatinuwara
Kegalle District - Bulathkohupitiya, Mawanella, Dehiowita, Kegalle
Matara District - Pasgoda
Ratnapura District - Ratnapura, Eheliyagoda, Elapatha, Kuruwita, Kahawatta, Godakawela, Pelmadulla
In addition, Level 01 warnings have been issued for Welimada and Haldummulla in the Badulla district, Elpitiya in Galle district, and Polgahawela in Kurunegala district.
Residents in the affected areas are urged to remain vigilant and take precautions to ensure their safety as heavy rainfall continues.
