The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has announced that a team will soon visit Sri Lanka to conduct the third review of the country's Extended Fund Facility (EFF) program. This was revealed by Krishna Srinivasan, Director of the IMF's Asia and Pacific Department, during a recent press briefing.

Srinivasan highlighted the productive discussions held between IMF representatives and the new Sri Lankan government, noting significant progress made under the EFF program since the new administration took office. He emphasized the critical need to maintain these gains and praised the government's commitment to fiscal and debt targets outlined in the program.

Additionally, a Sri Lankan delegation recently visited Washington, where they engaged in fruitful discussions, contributing to solid progress in negotiations. The upcoming visit by the IMF team aims to further these discussions and facilitate the ongoing implementation of the EFF program.
