PM calls for Policy-Driven Governance, Criticizes Former Administrations
"Each day, we are dealing with the disruptions caused by past ministers who made individual arbitrary decisions," said PM Amarasuriya. "While public sector salary increases are important, they must be managed within a proper budget framework," she explained.
Criticizing previous administrations, Amarasuriya noted how ministers managed their sectors independently, likening them to “kingdoms” that ignored the need for unified goals across areas like health and education. The current government, she said, is prioritizing cohesive decision-making and improving coordination across all departments. “Now, during our meetings, government officials say the process is much smoother because we’re all interconnected and aligned, which helps us avoid conflicting decisions," she added.
PM Amarasuriya also urged voters to select candidates who uphold policy and integrity, stressing the importance of electing individuals who respect policies, the law, and ethical financial management. "The power is in your hands," she concluded.
