Pivithuru Hela Urumaya (PHU) leader and former MP Udaya Gammanpila announced plans to initiate a public petition to gather signatures and convey citizens' dissatisfaction with legal mismanagement to the President.

Speaking at a press briefing today (30 October), he criticized the government for keeping Ravi Seneviratne, Secretary to the Ministry of Public Security, and Shani Abeysekera in their posts, stating that they were identified as main culprits in an investigative committee report on the Easter Sunday attacks.

"Since no action is being taken for their removal, we aim to inform the President of the people’s displeasure concerning the law misuse by the NPP government during their first month in office despite previously criticizing former presidents for similar misuse," Gammanpila said.

He also outlined plans to engage with communities across different regions to collect grievances against the National People’s Power for inclusion in the petition.
