Tensions raised Outside Sugathadasa Stadium after UDV Election Conference

A tense situation erupted outside the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo following the Election Campaign Conference of the United Democratic Voice yesterday (October 26), the new alliance led by well-known public figure Ranjan Ramanayake.
Approximately 200 young attendees voiced frustration, claiming that event organizers had not compensated them as previously promised, leading to growing unrest in the area.
In response, police officers on-site acted to control the situation, preventing further escalation and ensuring the safety of those present. Authorities reported that the officers successfully calmed the crowd after initial resistance, eventually arranging for the young participants to get back to their accommodations.
