Looking ahead to the upcoming general election, the President revealed that only around 25 members from the National People’s Power will be selected to form the Cabinet, aiming for a streamlined and efficient government.
He clarified that state ministerial positions will not be appointed; only Deputy Ministers deemed suitable for ministerial roles will be considered.
He assured citizens that the country is on a path to progress, emphasizing that Sri Lanka has sufficient rice supply, with no plans to import except for tourism needs. He announced an increase in the fertilizer subsidy from 15,000 to 25,000 rupees to bolster agricultural development.
The President plans to unveil the first budget of his administration by next February, which will include additional subsidies aimed at supporting the populace. His commitment to transforming the nation into a model of good governance and equality was met with enthusiasm from supporters at the rally.
