In the aftermath of the Easter Sunday bomb attacks that shook the nation, tensions have escalated with the government's recent dismissal of the investigative committee report released by former MP Udaya Gammanpila.

During a Cabinet press briefing in Colombo, today (22) Cabinet Spokesman Minister Vijitha Herath announced that the government does not accept the findings of the report, raising questions about accountability and transparency.

Minister Herath emphasized the government's commitment to justice, stating that they would launch a new investigation into the tragic events.

As the government prepared for the new investigation, calls for independent oversight grew louder.

Activists urged for the involvement of international experts to ensure a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding the attacks.

The shadow of doubt lingered over the government's intentions, as many questioned whether this new inquiry would provide the answers the nation desperately needed.

As the story unfolded, the nation stood at a crossroads, hoping that this new investigation would lead to clarity and, ultimately, closure for those affected by the tragedy.

The government’s next steps would determine not just the course of the investigation, but also the faith of the people in their leaders and institutions.
