Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Priyantha Weerasuriya assured that legal action will be taken against any violations of election laws without any external pressure or influence.
He emphasized that the police force has been directed to strictly enforce the law, stating that all actions will be fair and impartial, regardless of the individuals involved.
"We are not influenced by any political or other authority. We will proceed according to the law," he affirmed.
