The Department of Meteorology has issued a warning regarding the formation of a low pressure zone in the Bay of Bengal, particularly near the Central-East and North Andaman Sea, expected today, October 21.

Meteorologists predict that this low pressure may intensify into a depression by 0000 UTC on October 22, and could further develop into a cyclone in the East-Central Bay of Bengal by October 23.

Residents and maritime communities should prepare for very strong winds ranging from 70 to 80 km/h, accompanied by heavy rainfall, leading to rough sea conditions in the affected areas.

The fishing and marine communities are strongly advised to stay updated with announcements from the Department of Meteorology and take necessary precautions.
