President Anura Kumara Dissanayake revealed that the government has reopened 400 corruption cases that had nearly been closed due to legal and procedural issues. He stressed that the administration is committed to taking firm and decisive action against all individuals involved in these corruption cases, ensuring justice is served.

Addressing the growing public and political criticism regarding the slow pace of accountability, President Dissanayake confidently responded, "To those who question what the NPP has done to punish wrongdoers, don’t mourn when we start catching thieves." He reiterated that the government is determined to hold corrupt individuals accountable and bring transparency to governance.
