An Indian Airline Vistara flight from Mumbai was diverted for emergency landing to Bandaranaike International Airport today following a bomb scare.
Security sources confirmed that all passengers have safely disembarked from the aircraft.
Authorities suspect this incident is one in a string of bomb threats aimed at Indian airlines in the past week. On Friday, a Vistara flight (UK17) en route from Delhi to London was rerouted to Frankfurt due to a similar threat, prompting security checks. Furthermore, an Air India Express flight (IX-196) from Dubai to Jaipur encountered a bomb scare on Saturday, resulting in an emergency landing at Jaipur International Airport.
Authorities at Bandaranaike International Airport and the Police Media Division have confirmed that no explosives have been discovered on the Vistara flight so far, with search operations still in progress.
