Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Aviation, Vijitha Herath, has directed officials to facilitate the interconnection of the Western Province with other provinces regarding vehicle revenue permits.

This initiative aims to streamline the process for vehicle owners who face challenges in obtaining licenses when their vehicles are registered in different provinces.

The Ministry of Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation acknowledged that the lack of connectivity has been a significant hurdle, particularly for residents of the Western Province. Many have reported difficulties that lead to time-consuming and costly efforts in securing revenue licenses for vehicles registered elsewhere.

In response to these complaints, Minister Herath has instructed the Governor of the Western Province to collaborate with relevant departments to implement necessary actions promptly. This move is expected to simplify the licensing process, ensuring greater accessibility and efficiency for vehicle owners across the region.

The ministry's statement emphasizes the commitment to improving service delivery and addressing the grievances of the public, ultimately enhancing the transportation experience in the Western Province and beyond.
