Sri Lanka's Foreign Ministry has highlighted that the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, particularly in Lebanon, has created a critical situation.

In a statement, the ministry noted that given the large number of Sri Lankans working in the region, steps are being taken to ensure their safety and security through the relevant Sri Lankan Missions in those countries.

The ministry added that the Sri Lankan Missions will continue to provide regular safety instructions and urged Sri Lankans in the Middle East to follow these guidelines closely.

Additionally, family members of those living or working in the Middle East can contact the Consular Affairs Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for updates in case of emergencies, using the contact numbers 011-2338812 and 011-7711194, as the Foreign Ministry stated.
