In response to the severe flooding impacting multiple districts due to heavy rainfall, the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has deployed a Beechcraft King Air 360ER surveillance aircraft and Bell 412 helicopters to assess the situation from the air.

Bell 412 helicopters conducted aerial monitoring in the Western Province, covering areas such as Gampaha, Kaduwela, Minuwangoda, Mahara, and Kadawatha.

In the afternoon, both the helicopters and the Beechcraft King Air 360ER expanded their observation efforts to the Southern Province, surveying regions including Charassa, Pitabeddara, Magura, Baddegama, Panadugama, Millakanda, Galle, and Kalutara.

The SLAF's surveillance operations aim to gather critical information on the flood situation to assist in disaster management and response efforts. Authorities continue to monitor weather conditions as the situation evolves.
