Mangala Wijesinghe Appointed Chairman of the EDB

With over 25 years of senior management experience across diverse sectors, including pharmaceuticals, chemicals, and telecommunications, Wijesinghe is a notable figure in the Sri Lankan corporate landscape.

In his role at Brown and Company, he has effectively managed a portfolio of international suppliers and brands, driving operational efficiency and fostering business growth. 

Mr.Wijesinghe holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and an MBA, alongside being a Chartered Professional Manager in Sri Lanka, underscoring his expertise in business management and corporate strategy.

From 2021 to 2023, he served as President of the Veterinary Importers & Manufacturers Association (VIMA), where he was instrumental in elevating industry standards. His appointment as EDB Chairman is expected to further enhance export development initiatives in Sri Lanka.
