EC announces locations and dates for marking postal votes

it is possible to mark postal votes on 4th September at the all District Secretariat offices and the offices of the Election Commission.

Marking of postal votes can be done on September 4 and 6 at the Senior Deputy Inspector General,Deputy Inspector,General  offices, Superintendent of Police and Assistant Superintendent of Police offices, Police Stations, Special Task Force Camps, Special Police Units and VIP Security Divisions by the uniformed staff and the civil staff attached to those offices. Casting the postal votes can be done on September 5 and 6 at the Tri-Forces Camps and at other government institutions by the uniformed staff and the civil staff attached to those offices.

The Election Commission informed that postal voters who were unable to cast their postal votes on the relevant days can cast their votes on 11th September and 12th at the District Election Offices in the district where their workplace is located.

Proof of identity is mandatory for casting the postal vote and can be done through producing the National Identity Card, Valid Driving License, Valid Passport or Temporary Identity Card issued by the Election Commission.
