Tri-Forces donate over Rs. 372 M to ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund

All ranks of the Sri Lanka Army, Sri Lanka Navy and Sri Lanka Air Force have collectively donated a sum of Rs. 372,776,918.28 to the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ Fund to support the restoration of livelihoods and the reconstruction of the country following the devastation caused by the recent cyclone.

Accordingly, the Commander of the Army, Major General Lasantha Rodrigo, contributed Rs. 250 million, while the Commander of the Navy, Rear Admiral Kanchana Banagoda, donated Rs. 73,963,879.71. The Commander of the Air Force, Air Marshal Vasu Bandu Edirisinghe, contributed Rs. 48,813,038.97.

The relevant cheques were officially handed over to the Secretary to the President, Dr. Sanath Nandika Kumaranayake, yesterday (31) at the Presidential Secretariat.

The occasion was also attended by the Secretary to the Ministry of Defence, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyyakontha, among other officials.
