The 17th victorious campaign rally of Samagi Jana Balavega for the 2024 presidential election was held in Trincomalee under the leadership of opposition leader Sajith Premadasa. A large number of supporters as well as political leaders joined this event.
Sajith Premadasa said that measures would be taken to provide a monthly sum of Rs. 20,000 for poor families in a bid to counter poverty.

Speaking at a rally in Seruwila, he said that a programme would be formulated using the plus factors of the ‘Janasawiya’ and ‘Aswesuma’ programmes.

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa met with the Roman Catholic Bishop of Trincomalee, His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. Noel Emmanuel, today (26th August) after the Victorious Rally at Seruvila. During the meeting, Sajith Premadasa received His Lordship's blessings for the upcoming presidential election.
