A private helicopter flying from Juhu in Mumbai to Hyderabad crashed near the Kondavale village of Paud in Pune district on Saturday afternoon. Indian Express reported.
The police said the helicopter belongs to the Global Vectra company in Mumbai. It is suspected to have crashed due to some technical failure following weather turbulence, the police said. The Pune rural police have initiated a probe into this incident.
Local residents saw the helicopter crashing and rushed to the spot to help. A team from the Paud police station reached the spot after receiving information about the incident from villagers.
The police said the pilot is injured while the three passengers in the chopper are stable with minor injuries. The police have identified the pilot as Anand, while the three passengers have been identified as S P Ram, Amardeep Singh and Veer Bhatia.
SP Pankaj Deshmukh said, “The pilot has been hospitalised while the passengers do not have serious injuries.”
