A total of 5,779 applications for security clearances to operate pilotless aircraft were submitted to the Office of the Chief of Defence Staff between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023.
Of these, 5,175 applicants received approval, according to the Defence Ministry.
In the same period, three applications were submitted for security clearance reports related to high-rise building construction.
While two of these applications were approved, one was not recommended, and the applicant did not receive the necessary security clearance.
